In India, there are so many wildlife parks. Among them, the most famous park amid tourists is Jim Corbett National Park. This park is one of the oldest parks in India and was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park to protect the imperiled species of Bengal Tiger. The Corbett national park is located in Nainital district of Uttarakhand was renamed after Jim Corbett who played a key role in its establishment. Corbett has been a frequent visiting place for tourists and wildlife lovers for a long time. Park tour is allowed only in selected areas of Corbett Tiger Reserve as wild animals live naturally in the park. Animals can move freely and are not in cages.
Winter nights are cold but the days are bright and sunny. It rains from July to September. At this time the park remains closed for tourists. Best time to visit the park is after rainfall.The weather in tiger reserve is temperate. In summers, Indian elephants can be seen roaming in herds of several hundred. The Indian python found in the tiger reserve is most dangerous species among reptiles & is capable of killing a chital deer. Local crocs and gharials were saved from extinction by captive breeding programs.
So much flora & fauna is present in the park. Around 500 different species of plants are present in the park. Dense moist deciduous forest mainly consists of haldu, peepal, rohini and mango trees, etc. Bird watching is also a major activity of the park as about 600 species of resident and migratory birds have been noticed that also includes the serpent eagles,blossom-headed parakeet & red junglefowl. 33 species of reptiles, 7 of amphibians, some species of fishes & dragonflies are also recorded.

Dhikala is a well-known visiting destination in the park and situated at the fringes of Patli Dun valley of river Ramganga. There is a rest house, which was built hundreds of years ago. Jeep Safari is the most appropriate way to travel inside the national park, jeeps can be rented for park trips from Ramnagar. Tourists are not allowed to walk in the park but only can go trekking around the park in the company of a guide. Corbett Falls is a 66ft waterfall situated 25km from Ramnagar. The waterfall is surrounded by dense forests and you feel relaxed here. Garjiya Devi Temple is sacred to Garjiya Devi and is mostly visited by the travelers during the Kartik Poornima. It is a prominent temple located on the bank of river Kosi.
